This is where it all started. Kathleen set up the company back in 1991, trading as The Sewing Box offering the following services:
For 5 years we operated out of our shop in New Street.
We then relocated to our current location at Hayocks Road.
Over the years as business developed and our reputation grew we added additional products and services. In addition to above we now offer:
Over the last year our business has grown quite rapidly. So much so that we have opened a second location in Ayrshire - Saltcoats. When opening the new store we took the opportunity to move the main part of our clothing alteration, repair and curtain making business to the new workshop in Saltcoats.
In doing so we were able to expand our embroidery and printing section in Stevenston.
You'll find more than a few references to other company names - The Sewing Box, Kustomise and Bailey AD Media Ltd. Bailey AD Media is our limited company, the "offical" name. Kustomise is the new name that we adopted for our print and embroidery business online and we have worked hard building our business and reputation. We still very much trade locally under the name The Sewing Box - and are very proud in doing so.
